Maybe it’s the interior decorator in me, but June always inspires me to give my home a little refresh. I’m not talking about big changes, just simple touches that welcome the new season. I like to add fresh flowers to the counter, put linen sheets on the beds, and bring in natural textures to make each room feel lighter. I also swap out the stack of books on my nightstand for a new selection to help me ease into the warmer months. Creating a monthly reading list has become one of my favorite rituals. For me, it’s less about finishing as many books as possible and more about setting the mood for the month ahead. I like to think of it as the literary version of opening the windows and letting fresh air flow through the house.

This month, I’ve curated a reading list just for you: the midlife reader. I’ve included books that make you feel seen, books that provoke deeper thought, and a few memoirs that will have you annotating the pages. There are also a few books so absorbing that you’ll find yourself reading “just one more chapter” long after you meant to put it down for the night.
